Mukti Advani

Senior Principal Scientist
Central Road Research Institute (CRRI)

Dr. Mukti Advani holds a B.E. in Civil Engineering and an M.E. in Transportation Engineering from Gujarat University, and a PhD from IIT Delhi. She has been with CSIR–CRRI since 2007, working in transport planning, environment, traffic engineering, and road safety. She has contributed to IRC and BIS guidelines on school zone safety, non-motorised transport, and multimodal terminals. Her key work includes projects such as Indo-HCM, iRASTE, SUSTRANS, TripGen, MiTRANS, ELSIM, and national GHG inventory studies for road transport. She also serves as a reviewer for leading international transport and road safety journals.

Ashish Verma

Professor
Indian Institute of Science (IISc)

Prof. (Dr.) Ashish Verma is the Convenor of “IISc Sustainable Transportation Lab. (IST Lab.)”. He is Ph.D. from IIT Bombay and is currently serving as a Professor of Transportation Systems Engg. at Dept. of Civil Engg, Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, India. His research interests are in; sustainable transportation planning & policy, transport & Livability/Quality of Life (QoL) etc. He has authored more than 300 research publications, in the area of transportation systems engineering. He also has a patent and a software copyright to his credit. He is the founding Editor-in Chief (EiC) of the journal “Sustainable Transport and Livability” published by T&F. He is the Founding President of Transportation Research Group of India (TRG) and International Group on Sustainable Transport and Livability (IGSTL).

Prasanta Sahu

Associate Professor
BITS Pilani, Hyderabad

Prof. Prasanta Sahu is an Associate Professor in Civil Engineering at BITS Pilani, Hyderabad, and an Adjunct Professor at the University of Manitoba, Canada. Holding a Ph.D. from IIT Bombay and a Master’s from IIT Kanpur, he is a leading researcher in freight transportation planning and policy in India. His work focuses on urban freight sustainability, transit safety, green mobility, and congestion pricing. He leads the Transportation Research Innovation Analysis Lab (TRIAL) and an associate research center (ARC) at BITS Pilani. Prof. Sahu has spearheaded projects funded by entities like the Asian Development Bank, UKIERI, and Ministry of Education. He serves as an Associate Editor for Transportation Research Record and Editorial Board Member in Transportation in Developing Economies and Case Studies on Transport Policy. A life member of several research groups, he is also the Standing Committee Member and Sub-Editor of AT012-Freight and Logistics Planning and Modeling, Transportation Research Board, National Academies of Sciences, Washington D.C., USA. and a visiting faculty at universities in Canada, and the UK.
